Goal
Blue Planet Venture Capital Funds were established with the aim of contributing to the achievement of Hungary’s environmental and climate protection goals. For this reason, we are looking for target companies and investment opportunities that directly or indirectly contribute to the achievement of sustainability goals, reduction of emissions, improvement of sustainable quality of life, production of renewable energy, increase of energy storage, transportation and efficiency, solution of global global water problems. Innovative ideas and developments in the fields of green energy, climate-friendly agriculture and food use, the circular economy, green transport, smart cities and water protection are typical target areas for the Blue Planet Venture Capital Funds allocations.

The capitalization of Blue Planet Venture Capital Funds is 15.5 billion Hungarian forints.
The Climate Protection Venture Capital Fund with a capitalization of 10.5 billion Hungarian forints is 100% registered and managed by the Blue Planet Climate Protection Investment Fund Private LLC.
MFB Invest Zrt. is the owner of Water Fund, the fund manager is Blue Planet Climate Protection Investment Fund Private LLC.. The Blue Planet Climate Protection Investment Fund Manager LLC is functioning as alternative investment fund manager according to the H-EN-III-584/2021 resolution issued by the Hungarian National Bank, 100% owned by Blue Planet Climate Protection Foundation.
Strategy
Our investment strategy aims to create a mixed portfolio that includes companies in the seed, start-up and growth stages, even supporting those products that only exist as an idea yet or those that are already in the production phase. Accordingly, the extent of investments is also divided into three categories: i.) investments of less than 100 million, ii.) between 100-350 million and iii.) more than 350 million forints. Regarding the the geographical focus of our investments, in addition to Hungary, the countries of Visegrad cooperation and EU member states neighboring Hungary are also among the focus areas.
